Basic Life Support


Purpose of Course:
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) uses a scenario-based approach to develop the critical thinking and problem solving skills that drive better patient outcomes. Consistent with AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC. Covers breathing and cardiac emergencies – including CPR, AED, and obstructed airway – for adult, child, and infant patients. Participants recieve a two-year digital “Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers” certificate upon course completion. Courses delivered nationwide by our expert instructors.

Certification:
Upon successful completion of the American Red Cross course, you will receive a certificate via email approximately 1 week after the last day of the course.  The certification is valid for two years.

Course Materials:

None

Refunds:
Refunds or transferring to other classes are only permitted the request is emailed to recsafety@txstate.edu at least 72 working hours in advance of the class start date.

What to bring/wear:
The following are recommended but not required:
-Comfortable clothing
-Sweatshirt or warm clothes
-Long hair pulled back
-Snacks and drinks allowed but not during mannequin use and please clean up after yourself.
