To the Students, Faculty, and Staff
Campus Recreation is different things to different people. It is an opportunity to get out and play some pick-up basketball, it's a chance to win a championship, it's a little needed exercise to keep trim and it's a chance to play sand volleyball down by the river. The program at Texas State offers a variety of activities ranging from the traditional team sports of football and basketball, to individual activities and outdoor recreation. In summary, Campus Recreation strives to offer something for everyone, with a great deal of emphasis on fun.
The only limitation on activities is your imagination - if you know a game or an activity in which you've participated and we don't have it scheduled, come by and let us know about it. An open door policy and free exchange of ideas exists between the University community and the Campus Recreation staff. It's your program so help make it be a success.
The Campus Recreation Office is located on the second floor of the Student Recreation Center. We feel that the college experience should be more than "eat, work, sleep and study." Extracurricular activities are essential, and our goal is to provide you with the opportunity for vigorous physical activity, healthy competition, and introduction to a number of lifetime leisure activities.
Your enjoyment as a participant is one of the most important goals of the program. If you have suggestions, please let us know. Thank you. I look forward to working with you for the coming year.
