UPDATE:

We are on our way to completing the 94,000-square-foot expansion of the Student Recreation Center (SRC) at Texas State University-San Marcos. There is no designated parking for the SRC, but there is available parking in the west campus commuter parking lot throughout the day and after 5 p.m. in the Family and Consumer Science parking lot. We encourage our SRC patrons to use their trip to the facility as part of their workout by walking, jogging or biking to the SRC. Campus shuttles are also available.

Until the completion of the expansion project, the Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs and Fitness & Wellness offices will be located in Harris Underground in spring 2008.

The $31 million expansion is expected to be completed in fall 2008. At that time the existing side will close for renovation. The entire building will be open in spring 2009.

• A new aquatic facility to include an 8 line lap pool and leisure pool
• Increased space for the weightroom and cardiovascular areas to address overcrowding
• Additional basketball/volleyball courts and an indoor soccer court
• Additional aerobic/multipurpose rooms
• A new climbing wall
• A golf simulator
• Computer lab to include wireless internet services
• Snack bar and lounge area
