The Outdoor Center is the headquarters for the Outdoor Recreation Program for the Department of Campus Recreation here at Texas State University. This program is dedicated to providing outdoor opportunities to the Texas State community. Located in Sewell Park, along the banks of the San Marcos River, this center houses the equipment rentals, the reservations for University Camp, the Adventure Trip Program and a bike repair station. The Outdoor Center also provides a service for students to access information about regional and national outdoor resources and to provide trip planning and preparation guidance.
Outdoor Recreation is comprised of six main program areas: The Adventure Trip Program, the GOAL Challenge Course Program, our newly constructed Rockwall Climbing Program, Equipment Rental, Sewell Park and University Camp.
Please use the navigation bar on the left to learn more about each one of our programs.
