Burn Ban is ON

Located about 20 miles outside of San Marcos in Wimberley, Texas, the University Camp is a 126-acre hideaway on the scenic Blanco River boasting two lodges, six campsites, four day-use sites, and several miles of hiking/biking trails.  The University Camp is also home to the Texas State GOAL Challenge Course Program.

Over the years, many Texas State students, alumni, faculty, and staff have come to love the University Camp for it's uniqueness as a Campus Recreation facility and it's charm.  The lush pecan bottoms, scenic overlook, and clear waters of the Blanco River provide a place to enjoy nature in a family-oriented atmosphere.

This wonderful resource is designated only for Texas State students, faculty, staff and registered members of the Alumni Association.  Make your reservation at the Outdoor Center today!

The 3.5 mile trail system courses throughout the property and provides many scenic and nature study opportunities. Mountain biking is a popular trail activity, and portions of the trail are suitable only for experienced riders. The trail is great for family hikes and nature viewing. Click here for camp map.

Swimming, wading, snorkeling, and fishing are excellent in the clear pools above and below the falls. The "tube chute" down the gradual waterfall is very popular when water levels are appropriate. A softball field with a backstop and a grass volleyball court are available for use as well.
