American Red Cross Course Descriptions

Adult CPR/AED
For the person who only needs adult CPR training, this hands-on skills training prepares them to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. It also teaches the skills and knowledge needed to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Adult, Child, Infant CPR/AED
Includes everything in the Adult CPR/AED course, but adds on the child and infant component of responding to breathing and cardiac emergiensies.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer
This course teaches students to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants, use an AED on an adult or child victim of cardiac arrest and use personal protective equipment to stop bloodborne pathogens and other diseases from spreading.  This course is one step up from the Adult, Child, Infant CPR/AED course.

First Aid
The purpose of this course is to help participants identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in their environment, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions for first aid care.  It teaches skills that participants need to know in order to provide immediate care of a suddenly ill or injured person until more advanced medical care arrives.

Recertification Courses
We offer several courses that allows an already certified participant to renew their certification.  The course is not as long as the original course, but still thoroughly reviews the course materials.  All participants MUST show their previous certification cards on the first day of class.  Anybody unable to provide proof of certification will not be allowed to participate.

-Surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries, rescue skills - in the water and on land
