Mission

The mission of the Jr. Bobcats Golf Club is to promote the game of golf for children ages 7-17 years old; educate participants on the rules of the game; teach etiquette when playing and proper course behavior; screen skilled professionals to teach lessons and clinics; and sponsor competitive and non-competitive outings.

Membership

Jr. Bobcats Golf Club membership is $75 annually from the date of purchase. Juniors must be between the ages of 7–17 years old. Juniors are expected to maintain proper course etiquette, sportsmanship and respect for instructors and course personnel. Memberships can be removed if juniors do not conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.

Membership provides juniors with the following benefits:

• $1.00 green fees Monday—Friday at the Texas State Golf Course
• $1.00 off medium, large or jumbo buckets at the Southwest Golf Range 
• Membership card
• T-shirt for ages 7-11 and collared shirt for ages 12-17 years
• Free clinics throughout the year
• Tournament and league opportunities

Ongoing Programs

Tuesday & Thursday Clinics

Each Tuesday afternoon (5-6 p.m.) and Thursday evening (5-6 p.m.) during Sept 1 - Dec 9, a junior clinic will be provided. Tuesday clinics are at the Texas State Golf Course and Thursday clinics are at the Southwest Golf Range. Balls will be provided. Free to members; $10 non-member fee. Clinics times are subject to change.

Thursday Skills Challenge

The first Thursday of each month, a skills challenge will take place at the Southwest Golf Range instead of the instructional clinic. Come measure the improvement in your golfing abilities each month.

Responsibilities

• Review the Spirit of the Game etiquette in golf video
• Learn the rules
• Appropriate clothes are worn to the course and range (hats forward, appropriate footwear, shirts tucked in)
• No profanity or throwing clubs
• Keep pace of play so all golfers can enjoy the game
