Since 1986, The Adventure Trip Program (ATP) has been an avenue that the Outdoor Recreation Program has used to introduce the Texas State community to the benefits of Outdoor Adventure Education. The ATP offers trips and workshops ranging from one day to weeklong extended trips. People can choose from a wide variety of trips, such as rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, and backpacking. Our programs are based on the principles and values of Outdoor Adventure Education which provide:

The ATP staff is comprised of 6 – 8 student staff. Staff members are developed as leaders and professionals through trainings, certifications and, most importantly, by experience and time guiding in the field. All ATP Leaders hold current certifications in Wilderness First Aid or higher.

Our staff is committed to preserving natural areas through following and sharing the Leave No Trace Principles for Outdoor Ethics. For more information click here.
