Since 1986, The Adventure Trip Program has been an avenue that the Outdoor Recreation Program has used to introduce the Texas State community to the benefits of outdoor adventure and experience. The ATP offers trips and workshops ranging from one day to weeklong extended trips. People can choose from a wide variety of trips, such as rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, and backpacking. The ATP also offers a Specialized Trip Program, which provides a group the opportunity to customize an adventure trip to meet its specific needs.

The ATP leads trips just about every weekend to various locations. Come with us on a weekend journey through the Hill Country or join us on an extended trip during school holiday breaks.
The ATP staff is comprised of 6 – 8 student staff who are dedicated to outdoor adventure. Staff members are developed as leaders and professionals through trainings, certifications and, most importantly, by experience and time guiding in the field. All ATP Leaders hold current certifications in Wilderness First Aid or higher and follow Leave No Trace ethics. For more information on minimum impact camping click here.
