The Psychology of Eating: Cultivating Pleasure, Mindfulness, and Body Compassion

 This presentation focuses on increasing awareness of a more comprehensive view of eating behavior by reviewing the psychology of eating and various factors that play a role in our body’s digestion, nutrition, and eating behaviors. This presentation also proposes ways to build body trust, compassion, and positivity. Recorded live and presented by Texas State University Counseling Center's staff.

Join us for a mini wellness fair with various on-campus organizations, Student Health Center, and Campus Recreation. Participate and enter our raffle for a chance to win some prizes from Campus Recreation and Shakesmart! 

Organization highlights –

  • Healthy Cats: 
    • Healthy Cats Peer Educators strive to promote wellness and influence healthy attitudes and behavior. It offers interactive and engaging health education programs and activities so that Texas State students can obtain a positive and healthy experience during and beyond their college years. 
  • Students Against Violence: 
    • Students Against Violence (SAV) seeks to break the link which exists between the ways individuals are socialized and violence by examining how oppression is linked to violence. SAV advocates, educates, empowers, and organizes Texas State students to challenge and interrupt systems of oppression through an intersectional lens. 
  • SNO: 
    • The Student Nutrition Organization of Texas State University provides opportunities for all students to be involved in discussions and activities related to nutrition. Any Texas State University student interested in nutrition is welcome to join.

Be-You-tiful Barre Workshop outdoors with Josie 

Movement is one way you can show your body appreciation! This class will be offered outdoors and focus on small movements designed for you to feel every little muscle working. Class will also include breath work at relaxation at the end to wind you down after a long day
