Intramural Sports
Students of all abilities can find an intramural sport to join!
Each year, over 3,500 students participate in the Intramurals Sports program and we hope to include you this year.
Sign up with a group of friends, a residence hall, a student organization, or be placed on a team as an individual. IM Sports is great way to meet new people, stay active and have fun.
IM Sports events are scheduled Sunday through Thursday and generally run from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
All Texas State students, faculty and staff are eligible to participate in the IM Sports program. -
Sport Clubs
Texas State has 37 different Sport Clubs from which to choose.
Sport Clubs are open to all Texas State students of any skill level and offer the opportunity to compete with other colleges throughout the great state of Texas and nationally.
All Sport Clubs are competitive in nature, with an emphasis on participation, skill development and student leadership.

Fitness & Workout Opportunities

Climbing Center
The Climbing Center consists of two 52-foot climbing towers and a 14-foot bouldering wall, and is open to all experience levels. Access is an extra fee not included in the Student Recreation Center’s membership fee. We offer clinics such as belay skills, bouldering, and climbing technique.

Group Exercise
Enjoy one of our many Group Exercise classes, examples include Yoga, BootCamp, Cycling, Barre, Dance classes and more!

Personal Training
Be matched with a trainer to work one-on-one with you towards your goals.

Trainers are nationally certified and we now offer VIRTUAL Personal Training in addition to in-person!

Student Recreation Center (SRC)/Weight Room/Indoor Track
Students registered for the current semester are SRC Members and can enter the SRC and utilize the weight room, indoor track and ther open use spaces with their student ID! Click on the links before for more information on each item:

Swimming/Water Exercise
Join us at the SRC Natatorium for working out or for playing in the water!
- Natatorium open swim hours

- Swim lesson info (yes, they are for adults too!)
- Towel & locker service info
- Attire policy
- Pool equipment such as kickboards, swim paddles, bouyancy belts and more are available to borrow

Wellness

Nutrition Coaching
Campus Recreation will soon be offering nutrition coaching! Led by our dietetic interns and overseen by our Registered Dietitians, this service will help provide the tools to improve each client's nutritional goals.
Services are available in-person or virtually.

Sewell Park/Outdoor Center
The Outdoor Center is located in the 5-acre Sewell Park on the eastern end of campus. You can make reservations for, and rent equipment for your own personal adventures. Located right on the San Marcos River, no transportation is needed for river activities!

- Standup Paddleboards
- 3 & 6-Person Tents

Tennis Courts
Texas State has tennis courts that are available for open play, but only when Athletics and Sport Clubs are not using them. For more info click here.

University Camp
A 126-acre hideaway on the scenic Blanco River hosting two lodges, eight
campsites, and four day-use sites. Offering 3.5 miles of hiking and biking trails
throughout the property, which offer sweeping views of the Blanco River and
the Wimberly River Valley. The Blanco River is suitable year-round for swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, and fishing in the pools above and below the falls.University Camp is an ideal location for special events and family gatherings.

American Red Cross/Lifesaving
We are an Licensed Training Provider for the American Red Cross and offer a variety of life saving courses. Examples of courses we offer:
- CPR, First Aid, and AED
- Lifeguard Training
- Waterfront Lifeguarding
- Lifeguard Instructor Training
- Water Safety Instructor Training
