University Camp

General Information:

A 126-acre hideaway on the scenic Blanco River hosting two lodges, eight campsites, and four day-use sites. Offering 3.5 miles of hiking and biking trails throughout the property, which offer sweeping views of the Blanco river and the Wimberly river valley. The Blanco River is suitable year round for swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, and fishing in the pools above and below the falls. University Camp is an ideal location for special events and family gatherings.

  • Exclusive access for Texas State students, faculty, staff, and members of the Alumni Association (Texas State graduates) 

  • Kayaks and mountain bikes available for rent on-site

Site Accommodation Capacity

Campsites: 8 people maximum

  • 2 vehicles per site

Day Use: 6 people maximum

  • 2 vehicles per site

Jeffersonian Lodge: 14 people maximum

  • 6 vehicle limit

Beretta Lodge: 20 people maximum

  • 10 vehicle limit

Multiple sites must be reserved if group size exceeds the maximum of a single site

Rental Rates

Spring Break (Weekend before and after): Charged at the Peak Season rate

Peak Season: Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend

Holidays (University Camp is open on Mondays for Holiday Weekends): Starting the Tuesday before the holiday, and into the weekend, is charged at the Peak Holiday Season rate

  • MLK Jr. Weekend (January 17-20, 2020)
  • President's Day Weekend (February 14-17, 2020)
  • Easter Weekend (April 10-12, 2020)
  • Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-25, 2020)
  • 4th of July (Monday's open only if the 4th is a Monday)
  • July 4th Weekend (July 3-5, 2020)  
  • Labor Day Weekend (September 4-7, 2020)
  • Thanksgiving Weekend (November 28-December 1, 2019)

• Lodge and Campsite reservations that begin on a Friday, or include Saturday or Sunday, must reserve a 2-night minimum. (Friday 3pm - Sunday 2pm)

  • Single-night Lodge and Campsite reservations may be requested no earlier than the Monday before the desired weekend

• Students are exempt from the above policies for Campsites
